Craig Lowndes Claimed 100th Victory
with SACHS

100th Victory

SACHS Brand Ambassador Craig Lowndes claimed his 100th career V8 Supercar victory at Hidden Valley Raceway, the first driver in the history of the sport to achieve the feat.

The victory, his third for season 2015, came in the 888th Australian Touring Car Championship/V8 Supercar race contested since 1960, the same number as his Red Bull Racing Australia Commodore.

The success also carries synergies for SACHS’ parent company ZF, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2015 as a leading global driveline and chassis technology supplier.

Relying on SACHS Formula Matrix Dampers and a SACHS carbon racing clutch, Lowndes was able to power ahead in an action packed race, with the result cementing his position in the top-two championship positions.

“For me, it’s just been a great career and I’ve been fortunate enough to be in some very good teams,” said Lowndes.

“Part of me is just so thankful to get it over and done with and get the 100th win.

“It’s nice to now finally have it done so I’ll try and get 101 now.

“It’s a great feeling! It’s a credit to the team as at the beginning of the race we didn’t know if we had the speed.

“For me it’s been fantastic.”

Lowndes’ top-line touring car career started with a bang in 1994 on his Bathurst 1000 debut, when he placed second after passing the car of John Bowe late in the running.

His championship debut came in 1996, where he won on his first outing, before going on to claim the overall title.

Throughout his 19 year career, Lowndes has won five Bathurst 1000 crowns and three V8 Supercar Championships, for outfits such as the Holden Racing Team, 00 Motorsport, Ford Performance Racing, and his current squad, Triple 8 Race Engineering.

Over the past 11 seasons, Lowndes has depended exclusively on SACHS shock absorbers and clutches, and has earned a total of 48 championship race wins.

Not only does Lowndes depend on SACHS components in his Red Bull Racing Australia Holden Commodore, but the team's truck and transporter are fitted with shock absorbers from the wide SACHS' commercial vehicle range.

In the passenger car aftermarket, SACHS has a shock absorber solution for 95 percent of the cars in Australia, including European, American, Asian and locally produced models.

The partnership with Lowndes sees SACHS branding placed on the highly visible visor of his distinctive helmet, as well on his driving suit.
