OPENMATICS supplies Telematics system for public buses in Dubai

OPENMATICS is a part of the first out of three projects for Road and Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA Dubai) to renew the existing fleet.

OPENMATICS will cooperate on this project together with a partner company Luminator Technology Group Switzerland GmbH who won the overall project for a total of 316 buses. LTG Switzerland will provide ITCS systems such as passenger infotainment, Wi-Fi router, CCTV and a telematics unit supplied by OPENMATICS.

Bach Onboard Units will be fitted directly to the buses via the production line of the selected bus producers/body builders (MAN/Gemilang, Optare, Volvo/Sunsundegui).

OPENMATICS scope is to record pre-defined sets of data from the vehicle and optionally from other devices such as the fire alarm system or wheelchair ramp, and then send the data on RTA backend systems for driver related performance monitoring and vehicle diagnostics.
