Stabilizer for the steering axle

Joint and rod manufactured from high-tech material

The stabilizer link or connecting rod as a connection between the transmission and axle is part of the front axle link and is installed between the stabilizer and the axle rod. It counteracts the body roll of the vehicle when cornering and, consequently, ensures a better ride comfort.

Instead of the usual steel design, LEMFÖRDER also develops and manufactures rods from alternative, weight-saving high-tech materials. One of ZF's lightweight design innovations is a stabilizer link in hybrid design, for example. It is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CRP), polyamide, and high-strength steel. The intelligent material mix reduces the product's weight without increasing its costs. The weight reduction is particularly important in electric vehicles in order to extend the battery life.

LEMFÖRDER's ball joints on both ends of the rod also meet demanding requirements. The choice of high-quality materials and workmanship ensures improved joint guidance behavior, ideal sealing, minimized noise transmission, and thus a long service life.
